Vixen
Vixen is a 2004 Quarter Horse mare who doesn’t make it to the show pen as often as some of the others here, but she plays a crucial role in helping kids learn in the lesson programs. Vixen enjoys a good old trail ride to Herbs for ice cream, or a swim in the water. Vixen can be a little hard to catch until you get to know her, but she is about as safe as they come for beginner riders learning all about the western world!
LL Miss Pep San – “Pepsi”
Pepsi is a 2008 registered grulla AQHA mare. Known as the “speedracer” of the barn. Pepsi is all business if you set up the barrel pattern or poles, and will carry anyone around the games ring. She will also settle in and go to work as a lesson horse. Pepsi has proven herself as a valuable broodmare; throwing us some well minded colts with colour! Buckskins, grullas, and blue roans. Pepsi has the colour and temperament to offer in her offspring.
Pocos Bonnebelle – “Bonbon”
Bonbon is a 2008 registered bay roan Quarter Horse mare with an amazing successful show career locally and provincially in Western Pleasure, Showmanship, Trail class, Extreme Cowboy, Jumper, and Dressage. Bonbon is the go-to old mare of the farm for a trial ride or beginner lesson. Bonbon is currently enjoying some more relaxed time these days as she becomes an amazing broodmare – throwing not only conformationally correct and sound foals, but ones with an ease of trainability as well.
Skor
Skor is a 2008 mutt pony! We guess she is a Shetland cross. Skor has been an amazing mascot for the farm over the years! Used as a riding pony here and there for the little kids learning, but more likely you’ve seen her in a parade dressed up as a tractor, or a reindeer! She has been instrumental in our parade costumes and fun we have created around our group outings in local parades!
Sonita’s Born Pepto – “Sonita”
Sonita is a 2012 registered red roan mare with a great start in her first season in Extreme Cowboy Racing. This mare is proving herself time and time again to be a great addition to the program here at RLH for lessons, competing, and learning to harness. Sonita seems to want to please all day long, and has the get and go to get it done.
MB Maybe Lil Boon – “Maybe”
“Maybe” is a 2013 AQHA red roan mare who has joined the RLH Equestrian team as a show horse and future broodmare. With an excellent foundation in her training, it is sure this sweet minded mare will excel in Extreme Cowboy racing! With the names of “Wimpys Little Step” and “Peptoboonsmal” on her papers, it is evident that she will be a strong force in adding to the future babies here at RLH.
Bella
Bella is a 2013 Holsteiner cross Hanoverian mare. Bella has been a solid contribution to the success of the RLH team, making herself known as the little mighty mare. She may only be 16.2hh tall, but she has springs for legs and movement for days! Bella makes a great all-around english mount, with her focus being on Cross Country. Her first season out was a strong red ribbon finish, including winning Jeux Equestres in the combined Cross Country division while ridden by a junior rider in pre-training.
Brooklyn
Brooklyn is a 2013 Oldenburg cross Thoroughbred mare. This 16.3hh red bay mare shows great potential for the jumper ring, with the lineage of Aliano behind her and a great training regimen, she is proving herself to be excited and ready for her career in life. Due to her past and slow start in life, ensuring she had the time to grow, 2021 is the year Brooklyn enters the show ring, with the main focus being the jumper rings.
Freckles Jane – “Sangria”
Sangria is a 2015 red roan registered APHA mare, currently in training to begin her first season as an Extreme Cowboy horse and working on becoming Rose’s main demo horse for clinics. Sangria has shown a great deal of talent as an all-around horse, taking on dressage and jumping like she was meant for it! She is a little horse with a fierce character to compete and making something of herself.
RL Spooks Hot Flash – “Rosie”
Rosie is a 2016 sorrel mare and a recent acquirement to RLH. Due to her age and life pressures, she will be rested now and focus on raising some great foals, with bloodlines such as Shining Spark, Grays Starlight, Peppy San Badger, Genuine Doc – to name a few on her papers. Rosie will no doubt provide some future winners in the show pens for future clients. With her quirky, easy character – she sure is a pleasure to have in the barn.
